In accordance with a mutual desire to continue scientific and technical interaction and collaboration between the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal, the two institutions agreed to enter into a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the purpose of scientific and cultural exchange.
The two institutions have found it mutually beneficial to initiate cooperative activities in areas of mutual interest for the following purposes:
1. Exchange of faculty, scholars, and graduate students for lecturing, advanced studies and research.
2. Exchange of information, thesis, teaching materials, and other technological and scientific literature.
3. Cooperation on scientific and technological research and instruction.
4. Organization of bilateral joint symposia, workshops, and conferences.
5. Exchange visits by members of Faculty of the two institutions.
6. Conducting joint and integrated programmes for graduate students.
7. Exchange of scientific / technical publications and information.
8. Executing R & D projects towards conferments.
As a result the department established the following partnership in mathematics:
